Disability champions

Wragge & Co has introduced Disability Champions across the firm. Providing practical and emotional support to disabled colleagues, the volunteer champions will help ensure inclusion and equality within the firm.

Disability champion Helen Higginbotham said: "I'm passionate about supporting employees with a disability and I think it's great that this new support network has been introduced. It will help break down any barriers and stigma, and hopefully encourage people to speak out."

Law Society Awards

In October 2010, Wragge & Co won The Law Society Award for Excellence in Equality and Diversity. According to the Law Society, the judges sought the most innovative and successful examples of best practice in the promotion of equality and diversity. Wragge & Co won for its "impressive level of commitment and reach across the firm, with diversity set as one of its key milestones".

Best Workplaces

In May 2011, Wragge & Co followed last year's best workplaces hat-trick with an 11th conscutive appearance in the list of the UK's 50 Best Workplaces.

Law Society Charter

In 2009, Wragge & Co became one of the first law firms to sign up to the Law Society's Diversity and Inclusion Charter. Open to law firms of all sizes, signatories make a public commitment to develop and implement best practices in equality, diversity and inclusion.

A day in the life of a commercial lawyer

In December 2009, students from schools in London and the Midlands got a taste of life in a law firm during the firm's 'A Day in the Life of a Commercial Lawyer' open day. Focused on students aged between 16 and 18 years old from under-privileged backgrounds, the day provides hands-on experience of interview, negotiation and presenting skills.

Family-friendly employer

In May 2009, work-life balance charity Working Families named Wragge & Co one of the UK's best family-friendly employers. A panel of expert judges selected the winners based on those showing leadership in areas such as flexible working, childcare provision, maternity and/or paternity policy and help with eldercare responsibilities.
