The Lex 2008 verdict:
'You would still be very lucky to land a training contract with this successful and ambitious firm, where the quality of both work and training remains high.'
A high performance culture combined with a great social life. A firm that's big enough to enjoy a national reputation but still small enough to know your name. The sort of firm where in the morning you could be working for a FTSE 100 and in the afternoon you could be doing pro-bono. Whatever we're doing it's an approach that's put us in the Financial Times 50 Best Workplaces in the UK – the only law firm to appear.
Being 'unstuffy' is a Wragge & Co hallmark. For a start, we value minimum hierarchy so we're open plan. Everyone has the same space. In fact, being open and honest is one of our most precious values. We have a monthly chatroom where you can ask the senior and managing partners anything you like. It's part of a comprehensive internal communications programme that means everyone is kept well informed.
'It has a buzz about it and an open atmosphere.'

Ours is a culture that values the individual. Many of our trainees come from very different backgrounds giving them unique and valuable credentials. We've got former pharmacists, equities research analyst, army officer, musicians, teachers and writers.
'After completing a number of vacation schemes this was where I felt I would flourish the most.'
