Best brains in ...

Mid-market institutional acquisitions and buy-outs, secondary investments and acquisitions and disposals by private equity investors and investee companies.

Highlight of your career so far?

Acting for a private equity house on a secondary buy-out of a group, part of whose business included tours to Lapland. My five-year-old daughter was extremely impressed that 'daddy' helps fund Santa, Rudolf and the other reindeer!

Most challenging job you've ever done?

Completing a £93 million buy-out from a US parent within two weeks of being granted exclusivity – it can be done!

What about outside the UK?

Advising ISIS Equity Partners on the institutional buy out of Equiom (formally Anglo Irish Trust Company), one of the Isle of Man's largest offshore advisory businesses and advising the European Food Fund, a fund based in Belgium, on the sale of Food Partners to Aderlie Foods, a Duke Street Capital investee company to name but two examples.

Definition of great client service?

Feel and breathe your client's passion for the deal on each and every transaction and deliver legal and commercial excellence time after time!

When have you ever given a client a real competitive edge?

Every time the deal closes and the client is happy – delivering on time, every time!

What's your single greatest contribution to Wragge & Co's corporate responsibility?

Spending three days climbing Mount Etna last year to raise money for Sense, the UK's largest deafblind charity, a few days after its rather active state abated! I am also actively involved as a member of Wragge & Co's diversity forum.

What's been written or said about you that you're most proud of?

Sean Dinnen said: 'Solid advice from a consistently strong and well resourced team is what we've come to expect from Wragge & Co, and that's exactly what we got here. Knowledge of the pharmaceuticals sector and great client service was also a bonus.'
