Best brains in ...

Wragge & Co

Highlight of your career so far?

As a Leicester boy, acting for the flotation of Leicester City and currently being client partner for Leicester Tigers!

Most challenging job you've ever done?

Acting for QinetiQ plc on the establishment of a private equity fund with Coller Capital, dealing with the fund formation and transfer of investee companies into that fund.

What about outside the UK?

I head the India desk at Wragge & Co and spend at least four weeks of the year developing relationships in India and working with our non-Indian clients to facilitate their entry into India.

What's your definition of going the extra mile ....... And when have you done it?

Wanting the result for your clients as much as your client wants it.

Best example of a creative legal solution?

The 'Chohan' defence.

When have you ever given a client a real competitive edge?

Acting for an investor in a retail business where my family background in retail helped us to identify key supply chain risks and change the deal structure to make it happen.

What's your single greatest contribution to Wragge & Co's corporate responsibility?

I regularly talk at events encouraging the participation of ethnic minority students in commercial legal practices.

Also as training principal I oversee and encourage the award winning participation of our trainees in our corporate responsibility programme.

What's been written or said about you that you're most proud of?

'A commercial, street-fighting lawyer' - Chambers

'A shining light for M&A' - Chambers
