Wragge & Co LLP's public sector IT specialists have advised on a £2 million IT procurement contract for Hackney Homes Limited. Under the five-year contract, Hackney Homes has procured an integrated housing management system from Civica on behalf of the London Borough of Hackney.

A team led by public sector IT partner Sarah Sasse advised Hackney Homes. Brian Meenagh and Kirsten Whitfield advised on negotiations with bidders and Andrew Maxwell advised on compliance with the competitive dialogue procedure.

Sarah Sasse said: "IT is a core part of our public sector practice. Our familiarity with Office of Government Commerce (OGC) contracts and the competitive dialogue process enabled us to successfully guide Hackney Homes through to the procurement of an integrated housing management system on behalf of the London Borough of Hackney. We bring our expertise and experience to create the best foundation for partnership."

Trish Haill, head of ICT for Hackney Homes, said: "We were pleased to work with Wragge & Co on what will be a transformational project for Hackney Homes. The benefits this system will bring to our customers will hail a step change in the way we provide customer service."

Hackney Homes is an arms length management organisation that manages council stock on behalf of Hackney Council. The five-year contract from full implementation, with an option to extend, will deliver an integrated housing management system to Hackney Homes to manage the housing stock of the London Borough of Hackney.

Civica is a provider of consulting, software and managed services to the public sector and regulated services. It works with more than 1,500 organisations internationally, in the UK, Australia, Singapore and the USA.

Wragge & Co's public sector practice advises local authorities throughout the UK, including Solihull Borough Council, London Borough of Croydon, Bristol City Council and the Isle of Wight. IT experts have advised on headline deals including an £80 million IT PFI for London Borough of Croydon and a £50 million IT outsourcing contract for Coventry City Council.

Public sector work is a growth area for Wragge & Co. In July 2007, the firm won a place on OGCbuying.solutions' Catalist Legal Services Framework Agreement of law firms pre-approved to advise public sector bodies on a range of matters.
