Wragge & Co appoints Bijan Sedghi as new corporate partner
03.09.08
Wragge & Co LLP is appointing a high-profile new partner to its Corporate group. HBJ Gateley Wareing Chairman, Bijan Sedghi, is joining the firm later this financial year.
A proven business-generator, Bijan will focus on strategy, introductions and deal-origination for Wragge & Co corporates. This innovative approach takes advantage of Bijan's entrepreneurial track record and his strong market knowledge and connections.
Corporate group leader David Vaughan said: "Bijan has one of the best track records in the market. Throughout his career as a lawyer and an industrialist, he has demonstrated entrepreneurial flair and a desire to build successful businesses. His arrival adds a new dimension to our corporate practice, a service that can add serious value in the current economic climate."
Bijan said: "I trained at Wragge & Co and so it's rather like coming home... except that the house is much bigger and so substantial. I relish the opportunity to do some more building on the fantastic foundations which already exist."
A former Edge Ellison (now Hammonds) partner, Bijan moved away from law and into industry in the late 1980s. As executive chairman of Bromsgrove Casting & Machining Limited, he led a team which transformed this single-activity company generating sales of £2 million into Bromsgrove Industries Plc, a diversified international group turning over in excess of £200 million.
In 2006 he returned to law, joining HBJ Gateley Wareing as a director and becoming chairman in 2007. During his tenure the firm expanded through mergers in London and opened an office in Dubai.
Bijan will be a key player in Wragge & Co's 75-lawyer Corporate group, which provides a complete range of corporate legal advice to listed, private and private equity-owned companies. Support from specialists in tax, antitrust, banking, pensions, employment, IP, IT and real estate ensures full-service expertise for every deal.
