Wragge & Co LLP is adding a new corporate recovery partner to its national Corporate Recovery team. Vicki Conway, currently a partner at HBJ Gateley Wareing, will join the firm in early 2009.

A trusted and respected member of Birmingham's corporate recovery community, Vicki will lead the Birmingham practice and work alongside partner Julian Pallett to strengthen the national team. She will focus on the regional market, while Julian will concentrate on opportunities in London.

Vicki Conway said: "I'll be sorry to say goodbye to HBJ Gateley Wareing, but this opportunity was simply too good to pass up. Wragge & Co is a fantastic firm and I am happy to be part of it again. Julian, the team and I are relishing the opportunity to work together again to ensure Wragge & Co is synonymous with top-quality corporate recovery advice."

Senior partner Quentin Poole said: "Vicki is a technically excellent and commercially savvy lawyer, and we are very pleased to welcome her back to Wragge & Co. She played a major part in establishing our credibility in the corporate recovery market and is ideally placed to help us capitalise on new opportunities, deepen existing relationships and take the practice to the next level."

The move sees Vicki return to Wragge & Co, having left the firm to join HBJ Gateley Wareing in 2007. She began her career at Eversheds before moving to Wragge & Co in 1999, where she became a director in 2006. During this time, Vicki helped establish the firm's reputation for corporate recovery work, advising lenders, insolvency practitioners and companies on a range of corporate recovery issues.

Wragge & Co's corporate recovery practice provides advice on all aspects of corporate recovery work to a diverse client base. In addition to working with insolvency practitioners, banks and other lenders, the team acts for corporate clients seeking advice on their solvency and the solvency of their customers, suppliers and associated companies.

The team operates as one single team from offices in Birmingham and London. It includes associate Jasvir Jootla who joined Wragge & Co in 2008 from Leeds-based niche insolvency practice JBL Law where she was a partner. Dispute resolution partner Ian Weatherall advises on contentious corporate recovery matters, while real estate partner Phil Clissitt handles corporate recovery-related property instructions.
