Wragge & Co LLP Corporate group has advised online identity experts Garlik on securing £1.6 million in series C funding from venture capital firms 3i and Doughty Hanson Technology Ventures.

Garlik's management team and existing angel investors have also contributed to this latest funding round. It will enable Garlik to grow its business and help individuals defend and protect their personal, sensitive and financial information from misuse by criminals and identity thieves.

Corporate partner Baljit Chohan led the Wragge & Co team with assistance from director Catherine Clarke and solicitor Ben Ward. Corporate Tax partner Neil Pearson also provided specialist advice on tax aspects of the investment. They worked alongside directors Mike Harris and Tom Ilube at Garlik.

Baljit Chohan said: "Garlik has a reputation for innovation and is the brainchild of some of the best known names in e-business. This, combined with a strong business model, means it continues to attract investment. Our long-standing relationship with Garlik, knowledge of its business and mid-market expertise meant we were well placed to advise on this latest funding".

Tom Ilube, CEO of Garlik added: "Wragge & Co has been our legal partner through all our rounds of funding at Garlik. The team consistently demonstrate a sound appreciation of our business and their outstanding support has been excellent during this critical time."

Wragge & Co advised on the technology company's launch, securing backing from 3i, Doughty Hanson Technology Ventures and other investors.

Doughty Hanson Technology Ventures is an early-stage venture capital fund with $272 million under management. Osborne Clarke advised both Doughty Hanson Technology Ventures and international private equity firm 3i.
