Wragge & Co introduces 'Coalition Watch'

17.08.10

Wragge & Co's Public Law & Regulation team has launched a new series of fortnightly legal alerts to offer clarity on the Coalition Government's raft of eye-catching reforms.

"Coalition Watch" aims to provide clients and contacts with a concise summary of the key changes and updates from the last fortnight.

The alerts will also offer the team's expert commentary and practical pointers on dealing with the implications of the reforms. These include the impact of the so called 'bonfire of the quangos' and the new 'One-in, One-out' approach to regulation.

Partner John Cooper said: "The Coalition seems serious about its major programme of reforms. The machinery of government is changing beyond recognition. With quangos being abolished, regional government axed, parliamentary reform, and a new approach to regulation across a wide range of sectors, there is a lot of change to digest. We've launched Coalition Watch to help clients and contacts stay ahead of developments. Each edition will bring together the key updates and changes from the last fortnight in one place."

With the series covering topics such as the impact of the planned public sector spending cuts, the proposal for further privatisations and changes to human rights legislation, Coalition Watch will be relevant to anyone working in, or dealing regularly with, the public sector.

Coalition Watch is part of Wragge & Co's free alert, analysis, action legal update service which aims to cut through the jargon to provide recipients with up-to-the-minute, useful and insightful comment.

The firm's dedicated Public Law and Regulation team comprises highly skilled public law and regulatory specialists advising clients on government and regulation.
